The Anonymous Hope Foundation is to make hope and history rhyme. This is our moment to give life to the words of Joseph Addison: “Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.” The foundation believes in the words of Nelson Mandela: “Our human compassion binds us the one to the other- not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future.” Equally it finds inspiration from Martin Luther King Jr: “We need accept finite disappointments, but never loose infinite hope.”
In Ploto’s phrase, we are still like cavemen, with our backs turned to the light, watching the shadows on the wall. Modern man exists in what Ezra Pound called ‘a botched civilization’. Professor Gunnar Myrdal towards the end of his long life observed that the world was “really going to hell in every possible respect.”
In such scenario, The Journey of the Anonymous Hope Foundation has started as registered trust in India to dedicate for the welfare of most deserving and deprived members of our family believing in these words of Hodding Carter: “There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our young people… One of these is roots, the other is wings.” The Anonymous Hope Foundation is to nurture roots of equality and wings to dreams of those for whom suffering is rule rather than exception.
To achieve the mission, our aim is modest like of Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius “Do not hope for plato’s utopia, but be content to make a very small step forward and reflect that the result even of this is no trifle.” It believes to attain mission with simple objectives and simple means and not to hopelessly confuse with words, slogans and clichés to lost sight of simple truths and disenchant from hope. When on every continent, in nearly every land, hope is turning on the lights, let “The Anonymous Hope Foundation” be your hope, your stay, your guide and provide the lantern for your feet in your journey into the future.
The foundation always met diverse challenges with great hope. It realises although we all come from diverse culture, colour and circumstances, but anonymous hope is common which lies in every heart. It believes in customs prevailing across the globe since time immemorial to celebrate festivals in the hope of good fortune and prosperity from the people of Taiwan where people release lanterns into the air at the traditional lantern festival to the people of India celebrating the festival of Makar Sankranti or Uttarayan in the New Year.
It also believes that hopes are like our hair and nails. No matter how many times they get cut, they never stop growing. As a passionate foundation, we not only arouse the hopes, but also fulfill hopes. The foundation is to turn your thoughts and conversations around to be more positive and power packed with hope because many among us look to us with trust, hope and expectation.
William Wordsmith once stated that best portion of a good man’s life, his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness & love. Bradley Whitford taught us “Infuse your life with action. Don’t wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever you beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen…yourself, right now, right down here on Earth.” In the words of John Lennon” You may say I’m a dreamer, But I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us, And the world will be as one”. To work for the cause and care of disadvantaged persons and to improve their quality of life
The Anonymous Hope Foundation envisions a society where women, children, elderly have the right to an active, healthy and dignified life. We are integrating our programmes and services, and consciously moving from welfare towards development and long term sustainability for all the deprived. We are working closely with farmers, SHG women groups, Street Children, Disabled persons and encouraging them to speak up for their own rights. In our continuing fight against poverty, isolation and neglected persons though we have made significant strides, but they are just a drop in the ocean.
